My name is Priyansh, I’m 20 years old, and I currently live in Noida, India. I come from a background in computer science and data-related studies, but alongside academics I’ve always been very inclined towards social work and community-driven initiatives.

I chose to volunteer with Cormis because its core values of sustainability, upcycling, and women empowerment genuinely resonated with me, and I was especially drawn to how the organization works closely with disabled women, giving them dignified and meaningful employment rather than just symbolic support.

I’ve been involved with Cormis for some time now, and during this period I’ve contributed in multiple ways, including planning activities, supporting sustainability-focused ideas, helping design engagement programs for visitors, and assisting with communication and outreach. When I joined, Cormis did not have an Instagram presence, so I took the initiative to create and set up their Instagram page from scratch and started working on building their online visibility and storytelling.

Overall, my experience with Cormis has been very grounding and fulfilling, as it allows me to apply my skills in a real-world social impact setting while continuously learning from grassroots level work.

The most significant change for me has been becoming more grounded and patient and more aware of the impact of fast fashion. Being with Cormis has made me conscious of my choices and I now try to align my actions and fashion consumption more responsibly with sustainability by purchasing from ethical and sustainable brands
